The subtle art of giving a F*ck

When we started the Center for Barefoot Massage, we set out with some high expectations for ourselves.

We had the vision to teach our style of ashiatsu to massage therapists, and we wanted to back it with not just quality content in classes, but more importantly, high quality substance to every aspect of the company.

We wanted to make sure that our faculty is in touch with their students, the community, and the massage industry so that we keep it real.

We want you to learn FasciAshi from someone who uses the technique every week. We want you to study under someone who leads their practice and massage business by example. We want to train therapists in person, look them in the eyes, touch them with our SOLES, and pass our knowledge onto the next generation of barefoot massage therapists. We feel that a person shouldn’t own a massage continuing education company if they aren’t teaching and practicing the work themselves – so we continue to do “all the things” for you every day.

The integrity level of every member on our sometimes overwhelmed, busy team shows through in their passion for the work they each present. You’ll feel it embedded within FasciAshi as you personally grow with the technique. We hope to raise the standard on barefoot massage education, and to help support the massage industry rise to great heights. (And I’m not just being ‘punny’ and talking about stepping up onto a massage table here, folks!)

Mindfulness in Massage starts with Mindful Education

Mindfulness in massage is all about being present, focusing on the experiences happening in the current moment. In FasciAshi, even though you are “using your feet to massage,” you are honestly utilizing your whole body. Experienced ashiatsu therapists will start to dance across their clients bodies, focusing on where the clients fascia and their own intuition leads them within a session. The mindfulness of their massage becomes a sort of movement meditation.

We know learning how to massage “from scratch” all over again is a huge change. It can be humbling to your ego when your ease and natural hands-on massage skills don’t immediately translate all the way down to your feet.

Confidence and competence while applying FasciAshi techniques starts in class. A mindfulness approach that flows into your practice bridges the gap between classroom and clinical knowledge.

FASCIAnate your Ashiatsu Massage: Part 3

Ashiatsu therapists want to learn more Ashiatsu.

If you are already an experienced Ashiatsu barefoot massage therapist and you share our passion for giving the best massage from your feet possible, then we already know that you know (deep down) that you want to know more!!!

(Did that make sense?!) It makes sense to us. We’ve felt the craving for more information, just like you are now.  We want you to continue to improve your effectiveness and mindfulness in barefoot massage to help give your clients the healing (and heeling) that they are looking for. #NeverStopLearning is one of our favorite hashtags, and we have FOUR ways for you to do just that!

Today we’ll discuss your opportunity to RETRAIN by attending courses in their entirety.

Deeper barefoot massage using one foot

If you use your feet like your hands to massage, with intention, then your ashiatsu massage will not only be more therapeutic, but you’ll find your session time fly by faster. Getting specific in your barefoot massage and paying attention to details will make your ashiatsu session stand out from others’.

When I worked at a chiropractor’s office years ago, there were 2 other ashiatsu barefoot therapists there.  Doc told me once that my barefoot massage was way deeper than the others’ – and it had nothing to do with our strength or size.

How could that be?
