Welcome to ``FasciAshi``
Learn Myofascial Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage
Once you try FasciAshi you won’t go back to normal massage! This is because our Continuing Education classes for LMT's focus on the exploration of how to engage deep tissue using theories of myofascial mobilization, stretch therapy, modern pain science and principals of tensegrity... giving you an adaptive box of tools to choose from exactly when you need them, and it all just happens to be applied by your feet!
Give it weight, then wait:
This is a heavy theory that anchors our barefoot massage approach to how we can best impact our clients' lives. We study the growing knowledge of how fascial layers interact to redistribute pressure and movement through biotensegrity... which really just means you will learn ways to decompress, stretch, and find deeper connection as you navigate your pressure into their body. FasciAshi techniques aim for the contours of muscle and bone while applying broad, sustained, and gliding pressure on varying angles to meet those goals.

Many clients are looking for deep pressure that stays consistent through the massage and over the years.
At the same time, many LMTs are looking to learn something that not only makes their existing sessions more amazing, but also provides a way to keep giving deep massages over the course of a long, happy, healthy career.
If your clients want pressure that doesn’t hurt, if you want to offer real pain relief that shows up that very day AND if you want to continue to be excited and interested in giving meaningful sessions for years, we stand 10 toes down on the fact that we have you covered! You will learn to never deliver the same session twice because you will be massaging with the support and resources that help you integrate anatomical specificity, modern pain science, and your own sense of intuition directly, confidently, into your practice.
Our Vision
Normalize Barefoot Massage in your Community
We want "Barefoot Massage" to be a bigger, more respected part of the conversation when it comes to therapeutic massage. We see the foot as another "tool" to massage with, something that is just as capable and beneficial as the typical hand, elbow, or any 'normal' appendage that is used in traditional massage service. As we educate massage professionals on when/how/why to best utilize Myofascial Ashiatsu Massage and Barefoot Matwork techniques, The Center for Barefoot Massage is working to raise the standard on the quality and perception of this specialized style of work. It’s our goal to grow the awareness and understanding of barefoot massage within the massage industry and in the public eye. Our objective is to instill a culture of creativity and excellence within our alumni network.
Where do I start?
Which class do I take?
The further you get into our courses the more you will see the absolute importance of sustained pressure and anatomical specificity to best impact your clients’ interoception and communicate safely with their nervous system to reduce the perception of chronic persistent pain. It empowers your local community to “heel” from the new awareness they embody after their time spent underfoot.
Save your Hands
for other things
One of the biggest draws for Massage Therapists to the world of Barefoot Massage is how easily we can give deep pressure without adding more repetitive strain to our thumbs, wrists and upper limbs in general.
NOT ONLY will you learn how to harness the power of gravity and your own bodyweight to provide pressure, we've got the hack to make it effortless on your body. The Ashi-Strap was innovated by our company owner, Jeni Spring, LMT, BCSI in 2003, and it's evolution and integration into FasciAshi's work is a complete game changer for Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage practitioners! No more death gripping the bars or lifting your weight up by pure brute arm strength and endurance: we lean into, sit on, and sling our libs over the strap to not only redirect gravity on varying angles, but also to lift, disperse and control our pressure and speed.

We actually practice what we teach. As FasciAshi instructors we all run active busy massage practices and use the exact work we teach catered to our individual specialties right now. We believe that maintaining an active practice keeps our curriculum fresh and responsive to what clients actually need today... and our expert team has been refining these clinical strategies in our own businesses for years. Some of us have been at this for 20 to 30 years and all of us have over 5 years minimum in the treatment room!
What you are about to learn was built for and by anatomy nerds. We encourage everyone in our classes to be lifelong learners who continue to deepen their understanding of what Barefoot Massage means to them as they grow with us. You can find a class at the location nearest you or research our team to discover their specialties and get to know their vibe... so you can train with the instructor who suits your needs best.
