Already Ashiatsu-Trained? Here’s Your Last Chance to Transfer In
We’re thrilled you found us — and that you’re curious about our myofascial barefoot massage approach, FasciAshi.
If you’ve been practicing Ashiatsu and are ready to upgrade your understanding of fascia, pain science, and sustainable footwork, this is your moment.
But here’s the big news: our transfer policy is ending soon.
Transfer Policy Ends December 31, 2025
Since launching in 2017, we’ve welcomed therapists trained in other Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage lineages/programs to jump into our next‑level classes. We’ve always been intentionally different from the others, and over time, our curriculum has evolved even further — weaving in fascia research, pain science, and tensegrity‑based body mechanics.
The gap between our training and others has grown so wide that starting January 1, 2026, transfers will be retired.
After that date, everyone (no matter previous training) will begin with FasciAshi Fundamentals.
What This Means for You
-
If you’ve taken a live, NCBTMB‑approved beginner Ashiatsu course (16+ CEs) from our short list of recognized providers (taught before 2017), you can still transfer into Intermediate, ROM, or Fijian before 2026.
-
Proof of training is required — CE transcript/diploma/certificate (email to info@BarefootMassageCenter.com or text 210‑816‑1241).
-
We may request a short video audition or instructor review if:
-
Your lineage is untraceable, or
-
It’s been 5+ years since your last barefoot class.
-
Starting 2026:
-
Everyone begins with FasciAshi Fundamentals (3‑day live class). If you’ve already taken our Fundamentals by then, you are free to step into the next class you are eligible for!
-
No exceptions for Intermediate, ROM, or Advanced entry.
Why We’re Making This Change
We’ve raised the bar. Our Fundamentals class now includes:
-
Pain science education – understanding nervous system responses, not just “more pressure.”
-
Fascial research & tensegrity principles – sustainable footwork rooted in anatomy, not routines.
-
Movement literacy – using your own body’s strengths to protect your career.
This foundation is essential for everything we teach next — and for helping therapists avoid burnout and injury long-term.
The Window Is Closing — Here’s How to Transfer Now
To qualify before December 31, 2025:
-
Confirm eligibility: Must be an LMT with live, 16‑hour beginner Ashiatsu CE from our approved providers (overhead bars, not silks or hybrid).
-
Submit proof: Email or text a photo of your CE transcript/diploma/certificate.
-
Register for your next class: Choose from Intermediate, ROM, or Fijian (no prerequisites for Fijian except being an LMT).
-
Want Clinical or Advanced? These require Intermediate + Advanced — both of which will require Fundamentals starting in 2026.
Why Choose CBM? (AKA Why the Water’s Fine Here)
FasciAshi is not just “deep tissue with feet.” It’s:
-
Evidence-informed: Blending fascia research, nervous system science, and movement education.
-
Sustainable: Protecting your hands, wrists, and back while delivering consistent deep work.
-
Creative: No cookie-cutter routines — we teach you why strokes work so you can adapt intuitively.
-
Community-driven: We’re anatomy nerds, curious explorers, and lifelong learners.
If you’ve been craving something beyond the basics — this is it.
Not Sure If You Qualify?
If you’re unsure whether your previous training counts, reach out. We’ll review your CE history and give you a clear path forward — whether that’s transferring into a higher-level class this year or starting fresh with Fundamentals next.
Bottom Line:
If you’ve ever thought about transferring in… 2025 is your year. After that, the door closes, and everyone starts at Fundamentals.
Transfer Policy FAQ
Do I qualify to transfer into CBM classes?
You may qualify if the following are all met
-
You are a licensed massage therapist (LMT)
-
You’ve completed a live, beginner Ashiatsu class (16+ CE hours) with one of our recognized providers (they must have been in existence before 2017 – so that narrows the options down to DeepFeet/AOBT, Barefoot Masters, SAMBA and CIAMT)
-
Your training included overhead bars — not silks, Sarga, or hybrid methods
If you’re unsure, send us your CE transcript/diploma/certificate and we’ll review it.
Why does my training need to be from before 2017?
CBM’s founders taught for the original westernized Ashiatsu company until 2017 and know exactly what was taught in those early courses, and had a solid understanding of other CE providers content. After 2017, the industry shifted — content, standards, and even technique names vary widely now. Our transfer policy honors that known baseline.
Can I transfer if I learned Ashiatsu online?
No. We do not accept online or video-only training for transfer. Barefoot massage requires live feedback and hands-on practice to ensure safety and effectiveness.
What if my training was with Sarga or another barefoot style?
We love that barefoot massage has many lineages, but our Intermediate, ROM, and Advanced classes build directly on FasciAshi Fundamentals. Other barefoot methods use different body mechanics (e.g., silks vs. overhead bars), so transfers from those styles are not accepted.
Why do I have to act before December 31, 2025?
Starting in 2026, everyone begins at FasciAshi Fundamentals. If you’ve already attended our Fundamentals class, then you can move into the next level you are eligible for.
The gap between our curriculum and older trainings has grown too wide to bridge without restarting — fascia research, pain science, and body mechanics have all advanced dramatically since 2017.
What if I miss the deadline?
No worries — you can still join CBM!
You’ll simply start fresh with Fundamentals, which many therapists find gives them a stronger foundation (and more confidence) than their original training ever provided.
